Spectrogram Pro (with super-smooth 60Hz update) App Reviews

Fluid, Log Scale and cheap

Good colour for intensity indication, quick and fluid graph. Most apps do basically the same things as this and they cost much more. It doesnt stand, just rotates to the sides, but this is a minor issue. The only reason I didnt give it a 5/5 is because of its misleading number indicator on the notes when you touch on the scale to see the frequency and tones. The frequencies and the tones are correct, but the number of the notes, in 74% of the cases, arent. For example, C1 should be 32,70Hz instead of 65,41Hz which is C2. Every C is wrong and every other note is right until the place where it should start the 5th notes. Instead, the 4th notes are repeated in this region. And, from the 5th and on, all the notes are wrongly numbered. Besides that, this is still a great app, really recommend it. I just hope this problem gets fixed. Cheers.

Crashing when saving a plot

Why does the app crash when Im trying to save a plot on an iPad Air 2? You have to pause the graph before. But then it does not capture the frequency scale not the marker you have set. Not good as the app itself is fine.

App crashes when saving images

This app crashes when I try to save an image.

Works pretty well, but

Would be nice to have more marks on the frequency scale or the ability to zoom in a region of interest. The marks in the higher frequencies can span hundreds or thousands of Hertz which is not very helpful. Five stars if you can add this feature

Love it

Works very well; I use it frequently

This author makes great apps.

Had to say it! Ive been really impressed with all the apps this developer has made. His standard of quality is very high. We should support the people who put a lot of care into their work just like we do with Apple.

Mostly works

It works, but could use a scale feature. Crashes when I try to save a picture - use screenshot hotkey as a workaround.

Great app but crashes on save

Not good for much except pretty interface. No technical utility until developer fixes crash on save and allows export of files. Birders could really find this useful for ID of species if dev addresses these issues. Fine potential not yet realized.

Best audio analysis app Ive found

The spectroscope, plus the sonogram on same screen with real time... perfect. Ability to drag a guide with note frequency? Even better... Im using it with a cheap USB audio interface to viz my HW synths... If this could sit in audio bus, that would be really cool..

Excellent and precise

Very precise, it even shows the overtones perfectly. Excellent for analyzing frequencies of individual tracks in a mix. Its also quite fun to "see" all the sounds around you. I knew there was something electronic ringing in my bedroom that was annoying the heck out of me, and I found it with this app! Well worth the price.

I like it!

Nice app. But I wish it was able to process songs and voices from the iPod not just the mic!

Great way to visualize sound

Its fun watch the display while it analyzes music, speech or other sounds. You can demonstrate how the harmonics of two tones align to make a pleasing chord. I wish the pause button was easier to hit and that the capture image menu didnt pop up so easily. But overall a good set of options for colors and sampling parameters.

Too much not to record!

You cant record? Well there goes 4 bucks down the drain. Merry Christmas.

Amazing

This app is amazing I was listing to the crickets outside. If at all possible could you make it so you can focus in on one sound? Then Ill rate it 5 stars

Beautiful Soundscape

This app makes use of the high resolution display to visualize microphone input. Remarkably sensitive. Try whistling! One of the simplest and most elegant apps Ive tried so far. It always sparks discussion and interest, and makes you more aware of the aural environment around you.

Very cool

I really like this app, its fun to be able to look at sound broken down into its component frequencies... To be able to really see the harmonics in a voice or a cat purring. I do wish you could scroll the display back in time, or record it to a buffer and save it off as a movie. Though you can reduce the sampling rate and slow it down, which is almost as good.

adds a new dimension to listening to a concert

I was at a concert with a lot of weird sound effects and whipped out my iPad and downloaded this app. I could see the music visualized in a new way!

Another brilliant app by Dominick Seibold!!!

Dominick Seibold blows me away again with another deep and skillfully executed app. If youre into photography and havent tried Aremac do yourself a favor, get it now. Its the closest thing to Gimp and Photoshop for iOS and it works realtime on photography and video. Cheers

Buttons are far too small, but otherwise great app

Ive used this app to track down the source of high pitched whining noises in my office (multiple power supply issues in the past few years!) and graph sonic differences in musical instruments (comparing overtones and white noise levels between woodwinds). Very useful app, and its a lot of fun to play with. I just wish the user interface wasnt so difficult to use on the iPhone. I have decent dexterity (small enough thumbs to type fast and reliably, at least before iOS7!), but the buttons are incredibly difficult to touch. The interface is in desperate need of a stylistic and usability overhaul, but otherwise its a great utility.

Stupid

Dont waste your money this is a total fake. All it does is a slideshow of pictures. What a ripoff
