Spectrogram Pro (with super-smooth 60Hz update) Examine App

Super

Super spectromètre, bonne résolution de la FFT, affichage fluide. Jaimerais plein de trucs en plus (zoom, pouvoir mieux paramétrer la correspondance niveau/couleur, etc) mais cest déjà très bien.

Developers have removed key functionality

I purchased this years ago because it would display the electronic resonance carrier waves emitted by powerful RF emissions, like cell phone towers. Now, over the past year or so, the developers have deliberately removed these background resonance waves from being displayed; I can only guess why. I have emailed them twice with no response. I’m pretty sure they know what they did, and why.

Meh

It’s pretty good. It has a fast output, it reads sounds almost immediately. But there’s no playback and isolation option. I feel like that should be a basic feature in a pro version.

Versatile real-time spectrogram

It is fast, with easy-to-read and adjustable scales, colors and gain. I also like the frequency cursors!

Great for finding frequencies

If you want to know if a high pitch squeal is coming from a device, this app is great for sniffing it out. Really fast update rate and UI response. Log vs linear is great for really dialing in higher or lower frequencies.

RPO

Programmers took away the 16-20kHz frequencies. Can no longer see the Easter eggs in movies.

Dangerous to leave open

This app isn’t bad. I use it every day. But it lacks some spit-n-polish that a “pro” app should have. For example you get one - ONE - guideline. You cannot demarcate a range, you can only target one single frequency. The most glaring problem though, is if you leave it running in the background, even in paused mode, it will ravage your battery. An iPad Pro that normally lasts weeks on a charge is completely discharged within 3 hours even though the app was in the background and the iPad put to sleep. SO BE CAREFUL! The last update was a year ago, so this is likely as good as it gets.

KILLER APP

I don’t know Bode from booty, but this is the most perfect frequency app for anyone, musician or not, to explore the world around them. Buy now.

Best app

Pinpointed exactly what I was I looking for in seconds

No IAA / AudioBus support

One of the nicest looking spectrograms around, unfortunately it only supports mic input. Does not work with AudioBus or AUM.

The best one..

The best spectrograph app, without a doubt.

Nice, but very limited.

Smooth, as advertised, but no zoom, or pan of time or frequency feels like it's "just for show". Ok for that. Peak marker on spectrum would be nice.

Best audio analysis app I've found

The spectroscope, plus the sonogram on same screen with real time... perfect. Ability to drag a guide with note frequency? Even better... I'm using it with a cheap USB audio interface to viz my HW synths... If this could sit in audio bus, that would be really cool..

Great app but crashes on save

Not good for much except pretty interface. No technical utility until developer fixes crash on save and allows export of files. Birders could really find this useful for ID of species if dev addresses these issues. Fine potential not yet realized.

Great App 😍

This app works great it ONLY crashes when if you try to save an image If you don't care for saving an image buy it I recommend it 👌🏼 Waiting on a Update 🙏🏼 this app is too Good Please UPDATE

Amateur sound guy

Makes a beautiful sound spectrogram but that's it. No pause, replay or making a spectrogram of a saved sound file. Limited.

Awesome

Perfect. I just wish I could send out midi from the sonic data;))

Awesome

This is my main analyzer, it works great! Used in multiple real-world applications... Love this app!

App great but crashes

App crashes whenever you try and save an image from the spectropro on an iPad.

Works well

Does the job but could use some updating to latest UI standards.

Vocalist

Able to display intensity, pitch, and formants. Very useful to singers!

Stupid

Dont waste your money this is a total fake. All it does is a slideshow of pictures. What a ripoff😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠

Buttons are far too small, but otherwise great app

I've used this app to track down the source of high pitched whining noises in my office (multiple power supply issues in the past few years!) and graph sonic differences in musical instruments (comparing overtones and white noise levels between woodwinds). Very useful app, and it's a lot of fun to play with. I just wish the user interface wasn't so difficult to use on the iPhone. I have decent dexterity (small enough thumbs to type fast and reliably, at least before iOS7!), but the buttons are incredibly difficult to touch. The interface is in desperate need of a stylistic and usability overhaul, but otherwise it's a great utility.

Another brilliant app by Dominick Seibold!!!

Dominick Seibold blows me away again with another deep and skillfully executed app. If you're into photography and haven't tried Aremac do yourself a favor, get it now. It's the closest thing to Gimp and Photoshop for iOS and it works realtime on photography and video. Cheers

adds a new dimension to listening to a concert

I was at a concert with a lot of weird sound effects and whipped out my iPad and downloaded this app. I could see the music visualized in a new way!

Very cool

I really like this app, it's fun to be able to look at sound broken down into it's component frequencies... To be able to really see the harmonics in a voice or a cat purring. I do wish you could scroll the display back in time, or record it to a buffer and save it off as a movie. Though you can reduce the sampling rate and slow it down, which is almost as good.

Beautiful Soundscape

This app makes use of the high resolution display to visualize microphone input. Remarkably sensitive. Try whistling! One of the simplest and most elegant apps I've tried so far. It always sparks discussion and interest, and makes you more aware of the aural environment around you.

Amazing

This app is amazing I was listing to the crickets outside. If at all possible could you make it so you can focus in on one sound? Then I'll rate it 5 stars

Too much not to record!

You can't record? Well there goes 4 bucks down the drain. Merry Christmas.

Great way to visualize sound

It's fun watch the display while it analyzes music, speech or other sounds. You can demonstrate how the harmonics of two tones align to make a pleasing chord. I wish the pause button was easier to hit and that the capture image menu didn't pop up so easily. But overall a good set of options for colors and sampling parameters.

I like it!

Nice app. But I wish it was able to process songs and voices from the iPod not just the mic!

Excellent and precise

Very precise, it even shows the overtones perfectly. Excellent for analyzing frequencies of individual tracks in a mix. It's also quite fun to "see" all the sounds around you. I knew there was something electronic ringing in my bedroom that was annoying the heck out of me, and I found it with this app! Well worth the price.
